The Oedipus Plays

Written by Caroline Reader - Directed by Liam Mortell

Tuesday 12th - Saturday 16th May 2020

Studio at New Wimbledon Theatre

Blood follows blood.

Murder breeds murders.

I did non see.

Thebes is a cursed city. The leaders assure the people of the city they know what has to be done and relentlessly push their agendas whatever the cost. But are they tackling the real problems, or should they look a little closer to home?

This adaptation brings together all three parts of the Theban plays: Oedipus Rex, Oedipus at Colonus and Antigone in a fast-moving two act play. For those new to the plays it serves as a great introduction, for the more experienced it offers a fresh and exciting new take on the famous legend of Oedipus.
